This Blog, One Year

This December, this blog is turning to one year. Yeayyy! Although I know it is not updated regularly. Oh forgive me for i-got-no-time for doing regular post. There is so much in my head but difficult to write and finish even a post in almost three months. But it's OK. This post will prove that I'm still alive. Haha.

My daughter has turning to two years also. Remember about my first post in this blog? I write the first post when she is turning to one year. This year we only have a simple celebration at home, not going to particular place with all of my family members, just because so many things happened in this year that I can't tell about it here and because so many expending in money things. Hihi. But the most important is my daughter is healthy and keep developing her ability after reach two years old. Aamiin.

Hmm.. I think that's all for today. Very very short post indeed. It's only to prove that I'm still here, I say before. Hope I can manage better my blog and.. my life. Cheers people :)

She's Gone

Saturday early morning (20/9/14), phone rang and suddenly I got up from my sleep. I saw who was calling, my mother. My heart was beating faster, because somehow I knew something not good happened. She's gone. My beloved grand mother is gone.

Only prayers that I can sent to her.. because I know, I did not do much while she was sick. May Allah accepts your kindness, Nek, for being mother for three generations, forgives your mistakes, and puts you in Jannah. Aamiin.  I also want to say thank you for people who nursed her when she was sick, my mother and all of my cousins who live in Bandung. I know we had done the best for her recovery, but Allah has better plan for her :'|

Now.. There won't be your pic again Nek if we travel to some places.. But don't worry, you're always still in my heart. Till we meet again, Nek.. I hope :)

Happy Moments with My Beloved Grandmom

Kids Activities

Surprisingly, there is a lot of activities that kids (even babies) can do. And I already realize it by looking back again to my Pinterest account. There is sooo many things to pin, to read, to do, related to parenting things that I have not known before. I am the last child in my family and I do not intensively relate to little children until I have my own daughter. So I am a newbie in this playing and having activities with kids.

Another thing that surprise me a lot is how western mothers are very diligent and care about their children's activity. They finds new ideas on kids activities and they are constantly write up on their own blog to share what have they already do. And, what surprised me the most is western mothers have including their religion into kids daily activities and mostly I find, they are Christian. They read the Bible verse to their child every day, tell them their prophets stories (regarding to Bible of course), and have a lot of media to teach their children about religion and God via toys and games that little children would like to do such as coloring, crafting, etc.

Another thing that I adore about western parenting is how they relate their kids into BOOKS. Yes, even since baby, they have given their children books. From books that contains only images, images with a little story to tell, until a real books.

And then I look into myself. What has I done to my daughter (beside doing daily routine such as breastfeeding, bathing, feeding her, and buying her needs)? Am I introducing my religion in her daily activities? Am I educating her to be what I want her to be? Those questions are slapping me on the face.

And then I decided to follow what those western mothers do, to have my own daughter's activity every day. I usually do this activity at night (after my working hour) and in the weekend. Mostly I follow kids activities schedule in this link, beside the Bible related things of course. This link is like a very complete calendar: every day activity with different thing to learn every week and different theme every month. I also only utilize stuffs that I already have at home. It minimizes me not to buy a lot of things needed for support the activities. I only bought what I really really need such as:
- Coloring & crafting equipments: crayons, glue, coloring pencils, watercolors and brush. I only have used the crayons and glue.
- Some books:  one book about introducing vegetables and one book about 25 stories of Moslem Prophets.

Here they are the activities that I have tried with my daughter:

Month 1:
Theme: Creation, Adam & Eve
Gross motor: Rolling ball
Color: Red
Letters: A, B
Shape: Circle
Al-Quran: God created all things and He maintains everything (Az-Zumar:62)

Week 1 (taken from the link September - Week 1):
- Coloring house
- Mommy dressed-up

- Baby-bottle bowling

Week 2 (taken from the link August - Week 1):
- Coloring apple
- Free-play dump and fill apple and balls
- Cut & color small apples, put apples in the floor and let your children put apples in lunch box
- Make "apple pie". On paper, make a circle (I using plate). Color it with brown and glue the small apples in top of brown circle paper.

- Rolling ball
- Coloring number 1 and 2
- Coloring letter Aa and Bb
- Read book about Adam and Eve
- Touch and play with real apples
- Sort ball by color
- Tell them: Allah made plants, grass, and dirt

Week 3 (taken from the link August - Week 2):
- Coloring bear

That's all until today.
Hope this useful for you, Mommies!
And continue with so many other activities you can find on Pinterest! :D

Outdoor Weekend Activity

Here are my outdoor weekend activities in this two weeks:

Have Lunch @ Kampoeng Aer, Serpong

Located at Gading Golf Boulevard, Serpong, Tangerang Selatan, this place is suitable for family and business gathering. This place is wide, equipped with children playground, and moreover your children can ride bicycle which available there for free. You can choose whether you want to eat indoor or outdoor in gazebo. There is also a live band who plays updated songs, very very well played, and you can request songs you like too. The food is delicious with no MSG, they said. The drink is also fresh, you can order coconut, juice, smoothies, etc. For the price, it's quite expensive I think. Better go to this place in small group :p

I went there with my hubby and my daughter, my mother, and my sister's little family who already have 3 months baby :D Here are the photo:

Dinner @ Serpong Culinary Festival, Summarecon Mall Serpong

Summarecon Mall Serpong held an event, Serpong Culinary Festival, from August 15th to September 7th. The theme was Sulawesi culinary, which the menus are Coto Makassar, Mie Cakalang, etc., but there was another Indonesian food also. There was no entering ticket, but we must fill electric card first with some money and bought the food by using that card (just like Eat & Eat). There was also stage for live performing music like kolintang, Sulawesi traditional songs, and acoustic music. Behind the stage there was a huge boat as the symbol of Sulawesi people who likes to sail over the sea. Here are the photo:

Swimming @ Aquatic Fantasy, Telaga Golf Sawangan

My daughter already have a new swimming suit to wear (hehehe) so we decided to take her to swim at Aquatic Fantasy, located at Telaga Golf Residence at Sawangan, Depok. In the weekend, the entering ticket is IDR 35K per person (more than 2 years) or IDR 100K for family package (4 person). There is two swimming pool area, the first area is more for children, where the pool depth is shallow. In other area, there is still swimming pool for children but there is also swimming pool for adult. I tried the waterslide there :D We also can order food like fried rice, noodle, and kwetiaw in the cafetaria or buy snack like siomay (recommended), sausage, crepes, etc. Here are the photos:

Let's try another places on another weekend! :D

Arkadia

For several months, I went work to Arkadia Office Park. Located in South Jakarta, at TB Simatupang Street, this place is a green, comfortable, yet pretty fun to work inside there. Many trees planted, many places to eat to choose, from the cheap until the expensive one, from the food court until restaurant like Solaria and Starbucks, complete ATM center, bank, sports & spa center, etc. There are also food, clothes, and other type bazaar, also live music every month. It's like one stop living for people who work there.

I kind of feeling closer to be a client (hahahah) since we are sharing tower with BP and PHE. Like to be more fashionable when went to office and feel happy can meet the face I have known before. Oh those times.. Only two days I had left from Arkadia but I miss it hehehe.. Except the access gate I think. Because of that thing, I come back to Tripatra Head Office hihihi..

Here I post some photos about this place, but taken from other source since I had not taken any photo there.

Tower C or "Angin-Angin" where is so windy and many bazaars hold in this place

Positivity

Surround yourself with positive and happy people, and than you surprisingly become one of them. Just smile, seek the best inside of you, do what you wanna reach, reach them, and than your smile becomes bigger than before. Repeat the cycle and forget negative feelings and negative people out there..

Say What You Need To Say

After I decide to say what I want to say to the person who has the authority about something that disturb my head (and my heart), and then being responded by her/him, suddenly positive feelings come inside. There is still hesitation about my decision though. Is it right? Is it better than what I'm doing right now? Will I be happy with this decision? But the most important thing is I don't talk behind, grumble, and feel negative about myself anymore.

So what are you searching in this life? This life is too short to think about things that we don't like. There are sooo many options to do things what we like. If you don't like something, change it, speak up. If you don't do anything about it, than you must ready to accept it.

I remember a song that resembles this feeling of me right now. It's a song by John Mayer, "Say What You Need To Say". Here I rewrite the beautiful lyrics.

Take out of your wasted honor
Every little past frustration
Take all your so called problems
Better put them in quotations
Say what you need to say
(Repeat)

Walkin' like a one man army
Fightin' with the shadows in your head
Livin' out the same old moment
Knowin' youd be better off instead
If you could only
Say what you need to say
(Repeat)

Have no fear for givin' in
Have no fear for givin' over
You better know that in the end
It's better to say too much
Than to never to say what you need to say again

Even if your hands are shakin'
And your faith is broken
Even as the eyes are closin'
Do it with a heart wide open
A wide heart
Say what you need to say
(Repeat)

Sing! :D

Anti-Surge Control for Centrifugal Compressor

Compressor is an equipment for increasing pressure of gas stream. One type of compressor is centrifugal compressor. One thing that is interesting about this centrifugal compressor is the anti-surge control, where other types of compressor are not necessarily required. Why? Because centrifugal compressor is relatively a constant head-variable volume machine or we can say the flow entering centrifugal compressor fluctuates more than other type of compressor. So let's talk about this "surge".

What is surge? Surge is a condition involving volume and pressure fluctuation that happened when attempting to operate at higher pressure ratio than compressor design maximum. See the compressor chart below:

At chart above, there is a surge limit line that can be reached from stable operating point by either reducing flow or decreasing suction pressure. Surge usually occurs below 50-70% rated flow. Anti-surge control system senses conditions approaching surge, and maintain the pressure ratio below the surge limit by recycling some flow to compressor suction. Recycle flow is taken from air cooler outlet after compressor to prevent overheat. Below is the simple diagram of anti-surge control:

1. Minimum volume

Flow element (FE) senses the flow and flow transmitter (FT) send it to surge control (SC) system. When suction flow to compressor is decreasing below minimum set point, surge control system order the surge control valve (SCV) to open and recycle discharge flow to suction flow until the surge condition is passed.

2. Pressure limiting

Pressure transmitter (PT) senses process pressure and send it to surge control (SC) system. When discharge pressure exceeds the set point pressure, surge control system order the surge control valve (SCV) to open and recycle discharge flow to suction flow until the surge condition is passed.

For example, I take the PHE-FOXTROT Compressor P&ID snapshot as seen below:

At P&ID above, there is two sensing that send information to surge control system, which are FT-100 (for sensing inlet flow) and PDT-100 (for sensing differential pressure between suction and discharge). The surge line is flowing through air cooler (HAL-100) outlet to gas scrubber (MBF-100) inlet via surge control valve (SCV-102).

If you want to read detail sharing knowledge about this anti-surge control, write on your email in comment and I will invite you to shared folder on Dropbox. Thank you :)

Unwanted

Have you ever felt in position when you are a part of a group but a condition made you feel you are not part of the group, or when you thrown from one place to another place without knowing which place is the place that needs you, or simply feeling unwanted? I have.

I can not tell you the details, but I think about that problem for two days, feel that I am worthless (oh sorry, for having that negative feelings), tell some people that I trust about this feelings many times. And than I realize.. A problem is not the problem, a problem is how you react the problem. Today I make decision not to drawn into the problem. I made the conclusion that this problem is not a BIG problem. Like adding one routine in a day won't hurt you. Or this problem actually is not my authority to decide. The most important thing is I can still do what I have and need to do here and make the best of it, every SINGLE day. And I still get what it should be. As simple as that.

Although there is still a lump inside my head (and my heart), I try to accept it. If I can't accept it, better to talk with the person that has the authority. Please pray for me so I can talk properly, without adding any bad emotions on it. Hehehe.

That's all for my story today.
Keep smiling :)

Why Some Fractionation Columns Having Different Diameter?

A fractionation is a unit operation utilize to separate mixture into individual products. The separation involves separating components by relative volatility. Below is the example of fractionation schematic diagram:

Heat is introduced to the reboiler to produce stripping vapors. The vapor rises through the column contacting the descending liquid. The vapor leaving the top of the column enters the condenser where heat is removed by some type of cooling medium. Liquid is returned to the column as reflux to limit the loss of heavy components overhead.

Some type of fractionators are demethanizer (top product is methane, C1), deethanizer (top product is ethane, C2), depropanizer (top product is propane, C3), debutanizer (top product is butane), distillation column (products are naphta, kerosene, etc) and many other type fractionators, depends on the products to be made and the feed composition.

The interesting thing is the diameter of fractionation column can be different between the top and bottom section. Why? Let's see the example below:

 Demethanizer

http://nptel.ac.in/courses/103102022/evaluation%20of%20crude%20oil/images/2.5.3.jpg
 Atmospheric Distillation Unit

On demethanizer figure above, it shows that the top section has larger diameter than bottom section, looks like a bottle upside down. While on atmospheric distillation unit, the bottom section has larger diameter than top section and looks like a bottle.

After having some discussions and reading some references, I try to conclude the answer of this question. It depends on the feed composition that enters the column. When light components is more than heavy components, the top section column might be having larger diameter than the bottom (like demethanizer). Vice versa, when heavy components is more than light components, the bottom section might be having larger diameter than the top (like distillation column). This answer is only a philosophical answer (I know this is still a shallow answer hehehe). Further calculation and sizing is needed to get more precise and detailed answer. Anyone would be adding or correcting my answer? I am very welcoming it. Let's discuss! :D
